EBMG was founded in 1998 and is located in Raleigh NC. Our staff has solid backgrounds in accounting, finance, banking, HR, benefits consulting, and brokerage work, representing more than 75 years of combined experience. Our primary focus is group benefit plans for small to medium size employers. While we are located in North Carolina, we service clients all over the United States.
We assist our clients in providing a wide array of benefits, both employer-paid and voluntary, to their employees. These benefits include: Medical Plans, HSAs, HRAs, Dental Plans, Vision Plans, Group Life Plans, Short and Long Term Disability Plans, voluntary benefits, and more. Most of our clients offer fully-insured benefits, however we do have clients with alternative funding methods.
When employer plans cannot meet the specific needs of an individual employee (or dependent), we can assist with individual medical, dental, life, disability, long-term care, and Medicare Supplemental insurance.
EBMG also handles the needs of business owners and executives, providing executive life insurance policies, cross purchase agreements, key person life insurance, business overhead insurance, and executive LTD carve out policies.
Dan Hynes - Principal
Dan is the founder and principal of EBMG. He started out in the accounting profession, which served as the perfect foundation for his many years in the employee benefits industry. Dan enjoys working with leadership of companies in the design, funding, and communication for their benefits programs.

Michael Hamilton - Team Lead - Senior Benefits Analyst

Michael is responsible for issuing RFPs, reviewing insurer proposals, creating Analysis Reports for both renewing and prospective clients, and preparing various reports related to benefit plan utilization, funding, and recommendations. He also works with our insurer representatives to help keep our team informed on new products and regulations, and to negotiate favorable benefits plans and costs for each client.
Andrew Cox - Benefits Analyst

Andrew is responsible for issuing RFPs, reviewing insurer proposals, and creating Analysis Reports for both renewing and prospective clients. He ensures our client and insurer data is complete and accurate, and plays a major role in developing reporting tools and dashboards for both internal and external use.
Meredith Gibson - Team Lead - Senior Benefits Consultant

Meredith joined EBMG in 2016 and has more than 20 years of experience. Her responsibilities are vast and include complex Employee Navigator design and integrations, peer review of communications and insurer documentation, onboarding new clients, preparing and reporting of government forms and compliance tasks, and overall account management. She holds her life, health, and long-term care licenses.
Rita Lawson - HRIS Specialist

Rita’s specialty is with Employee Navigator. She makes the open enrollment process easy and informative for clients and employees by adding all the summaries, video content, and comparative data. Rita also sets up the selected benefit plans in Employee Navigator for both new and current clients and manages the integrations with insurance carriers.
Melissa Kanya - Client Services Specialist

Melissa manages eligibility data, client claims issues, and year-round enrollments occurring outside of the annual open enrollment period, ensuring accurate transmission of data and timely client correspondence. With considerable attention to detail, she also conducts the carrier eligibility and post-enrollment audits for our clients. Melissa currently holds her life and health licenses.
